Introducing... PROJECT 77

Correct artist programming is paramount for a successful party. This may sound obvious, yet how many times have you walked into the club only to be blasted by a warm up DJ banging it out at 10pm, leaving the headliner with nowhere to go? The warm up set is the most important of the night. It conjures the vibe, sets the tone and steers the dance floor in the right direction. And it’s all too often squandered.

Restoring the quintessential clubbing experience, Club 77 presents Project 77; a series of club nights handing programming duties over to the headline DJ, who personally selects their own warm up act to build a proper platform so they can execute an extended set of dance floor hedonism.

This exploration in aural symbiosis kicks off on New Year’s Day featuring two of electronic music’s most exciting genre defiers, DJ Plead and Lauren Hansom. Join us for a night of recalibration as this exciting duo navigate pulsing rhythms and reach 2022-levels of 4/4 euphoria. The dance floor is primed, ready for you to sweat away the past and welcome new beginnings.

DJ Plead has played at some of Europe’s most established clubs, including De School, Corsica Studios and Panorama Bar.  Drawing on his Lebanese heritage, he makes tough, functional, and percussive tracks. His unique style references the rhythms, scales and timbres of Lebanese pop and traditional Lebanese wedding music, blending them with contemporary RnB, Club and other dance styles.

DJ Plead released his debut EP ‘Get in Circle’ through air max 97’s DECISIONS label in March 2018 and has since released cuts on Nervous Horizon, Livity Sound and his own label, SUMAC. He is also half of drum-workout duo Poison and member of high-energy trio, BV.

Club 77 is a safe space for self expression and sweaty late night dancing! We encourage everyone who comes through our doors to bring good vibes only.

Club 77 and the artists involved would like to acknowledge that this event, and all the work that we undertake happens on stolen land. We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we are holding this event, the Wangal people of the Eora nation and their Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.

Free tickets for First Nations peoples are available – please email contact@seventyseven.com.au
